Maharajah Dalip Singh
David has three times worked for the Lost Musicals™, as Alexis in the British Premiere of Cole Porter’s Silk Stockings, as Etienne in Porter’s Can-Can and, this year, as Sir Gerard Nutfield in Noel Coward’s Sail Away. He is also a critically acclaimed panto dame, seasons including Jack and the Beanstalk (Dame Trott) at the Pavilion Theatre, Worthing; Cinderella (Ugly Sister) and Aladdin (Widow Twankey) both at the Hazlitt Theatre, Maidstone; and, last season, Cinderella (Ugly Sister) at the Camberley Theatre. This year he is an ugly sister again, this time in Chatham. David has staged numerous productions including The Biograph Girl in Hoxton Hall. David is of mixed English-Indian lineage. He trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has played numerous roles, including Baloo (Jungle Book) – Brook Theatre, Chatham; Osric/Lucianus/Gravedigger (Hamlet) – Gulbenkian Theatre, Canterbury; Sancho Panza (Man of La Mancha) – Charles Cryer Theatre, Carshalton; Mrs. Taylor/Rev. Hightower (Bat Boy) and Dr. Prospero (Return to the Forbidden Planet) – Kenneth More Theatre, Ilford; the Narrator (Into the Woods) – Minack Theatre, Cornwall; and Emperor Altuom (Turandot) – Dorset Opera.
