Ilan is an experienced community theatre actor and singer, and in the last ten years has performed in over thirty-five stage productions and several short films. Favourite plays include The Importance of Being Earnest, Cause Célèbre, Easy Virtue, Hay Fever, Arms & the Man, The Lion in Winter, All My Sons, Habeas Corpus, An Inspector Calls and Plaza Suite and the musicals Company, Return to the Forbidden Planet, Personals and State Fair.

Following The Last Maharajah, he will be playing the Headmaster in another World premiere musical, Kiddy-Fiddler on the Roof, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival throughout August.
