Detective Sergeant Malcolm Armstrong
Rory has played in repertory theatre at Liverpool, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Derby, Cheltenham and Inverness to name but a few, and has even taken Shakespeare to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. He played Reverend Caruthers in STV’s colourful soap Take The High Road, and other television credits include Taggart, Strathblair, A Very British Coup and The Professionals. His most recent roles have been Inspector White Mason in Sherlocks Holmes’s Last Case at the Gawsworth Festival and Mr Thompson in Tom Stoppard’s If You’re Glad I’ll be Frank at the King’s Head Theatre. Rory trained at the Drama Centre London. He made his professional debut playing Lucky in Waiting for Godot at the Edinburgh Festival. Other theatre appearances include Needham in No Sex Please We’re British in the long running West End Comedy, William Roper in A Man For All Seasons, Major Flack in Privates on Parade (National Tour), Frederick Treves in The Elephant Man, Banquo in Macbeth, Malvolio in Twelfth Night and the Millar in The Canterbury Tales.
