July 2010: Company

Imperial Productions presents

Company

at the Barons Court Theatre, London W14

29 June–10 July 2010

by Stephen Sondheim and George Furth

A fresh, fun and vibrant interpretation of a Broadway classic, at the Barons Court Theatre for a limited period only. Come celebrate a birthday, a few marriages, a divorce and how it all forms part of BEING ALIVE...

Company is a non-narrative series of musical vignettes revolving around a central character Robert (a single man unable to commit fully to a steady relationship, let alone marriage), the five married couples who are his closest friends, and his three current girlfriends. The book and music scenes are presented in no particular chronological order, but are linked instead by a celebration for Robert's 35th birthday. The original 1970 production of Company was among the first musicals to deal with adult problems through its music.

Brought to you by Imperial Productions, who recently visited Barons Court with their sell-out production of Silence! The Musical and their critically acclaimed production of The Way of the World.

This production will be directed by Ray Rackham.

The show runs at the Barons Court Theatre from Tuesday 29th June – Saturday 10th July 2010 for thirteen performances only (nightly at 7.30pm Tuesday to Sunday with Saturday matinees at 3.00pm).

All taking part in the show will need to be available all afternoon and evening for both Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th June for technical and dress rehearsals.

Please note – there is no wage or fee for this show. You do not pay to be in it and you do not get paid to be in it. However, you will be in a show that is celebrating Stephen Sondheim’s 80th birthday so we hope that will create a lot of attention for the work and for the cast therein. A high level of dedication and commitment is required from all cast members. If you know in advance that you will miss a significant number of rehearsals (say, more than six), please discuss this with the casting director immediately. All cast members must attend every rehearsal from 12th June onwards, with two other compulsory rehearsals on 10th April (FIRST REHEARSAL) and 15th May.
