Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens

Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens

Wed 11th June - Sat 14th June 2003

The London Oratory School Theatre, Fulham, London

Book by Bill Russell | Music by Janet Hood

The show could best be described as a play with songs, the songs being in the modern musical vein.

The libretto is by Bill Russell and the music by Janet Hood and the show is a celebration of lives lost to AIDS told in free-verse monologues and songs. This show tells the tale from the point of view of some thirty individuals who died as a result of contracting AIDS from a wide variety of sources, such as a "regular Joe" who dropped into a brothel and a granny who was given an infected blood transfusion.

It was presented to critical acclaim in London at the King's Head Theatre in 1992 and the following year at the Criterion Theatre
