Spring Budleigh 2010: Iolanthe

at The Public Hall, Budleigh Salterton

From the team that brought you the short, sharp, shock The Pirates of Penzance of 2008, Sarah Hargreaves and Wendy Norman now propose to beat the General Election blues by another Spring Budleigh Blitz, this time presenting Iolanthe.

This will be staged, performed off the book and with a band – we need principals to learn their own parts as far as possible as the rehearsal period is very short and very focussed with not much time for note-bashing.

There will be minimal set and costumes will come out of the dressing up box!

There will be six evening rehearsals at St Gabriel's:

Weds– April 21st

Thurs – April 22nd

Weds – April 28th

Thur – April 29th

Tues – May 4th

Weds – May 5th

Please try to keep all rehearsal dates free and be prepared to attend as many as possible.  We are conferring with NewLOG on the schedule as we know people would like to be able to be in both shows.

Plan for weekend

May 7th – travel – get in and general rejoicing in The Feathers

May 8th  - dress and tech combined in am - 2 performances  - matinee and evening followed by merriment in the Feathers and slap up dinner in Public Hall

May 9th – get out and travel

Band will need to be confident sight readers and players as we can only rehearse on the morning of the show in Budleigh.  Familiarity with the show would be a strong advantage.
